<div id="title">Introduction</div>
<p>The College of Medical and Health Sciences was established in August, 2016. The primary objectives of this college are to cultivate students with both theoretical and practical skills, humanities, social responsibilities, and global awareness. The core development direction of the college focuses on health and safety issues, especially the health of young children and the elderly. The goal of the college is to educate students to become kindergarten teachers for young kids and caregivers for senior citizens.</p>
<p>The college consists of two departments as follows:</p>
<ol>
<li>Department of Early Childhood Educare</li>
<li>Department of Long-term Care and Management</li>
<li>Department of Leisure Recreation and Sports Management</li>
<li>Department of Fashion Styling and Design</li>
</ol>
<p>All departments have four-year and two-year courses. They also have day, night and weekend programs. The College has highly qualified teachers: approximately 70% out of them are assistant professors in the professional field; and all teachers hold one or more professional certificates or licenses. To meet the demands of teaching and research, the college has complete sets of equipment, comprehensive design and analysis engineering software, and well-equipped experiment facilities in each department or graduate school.</p>

<li>Curriculum design: Emphasis on students&#8217; workplace ethics and practical<br />
capabilities.</li>
<li>Professional licenses: Each student is required to obtain 3 licenses before<br />
graduation.</li>
<li>Emphasis on off-campus internships: Each student must undertake a<br />
half-year to one-year internship before graduation.</li>
<li>Innovation and creativity: Training courses on innovation and creativity are<br />
designed for students to compete in the workplaces.</li>

<div id="title">Introduction</div>
<p>The Department of Long-Term Care and Management was founded in 2015. In order to react to the increasing policies of long-Term care (LTC) and the longer lifespan of people nowadays, the Department aims to equip our students with both professional knowledge and practical experiences.</p>
<p>The curricula provide both theoretical and practical courses, such as Care Skills, Institutional Management, and Service Management. Our courses help students to obtain the comprehensive knowledge about care policy planning, institutional management services, industrial development and health propaganda for long-term care. We have also had a two-stage internship for our students. Sophomores must take the course to become professional trainees first, and then they will be assigned into an internship program in their senior year. The internship will improve students’ management practices and interdisciplinary integration skills.

<li>Through both local and overseas trips, the students may conduct long-term care-related studies and exchanges.</li>
<li>Through empirical learning and validation, to enhance students’ knowledge in developing long-term care competency.</li>

<p>We created the Department of Fashion Styling and Design in WuFeng University in 2011. In order to meet the needs of the society, this department moderates the curriculum content every year to cultivate professional talents in beauty salons, beauty health care, and fashion styling and design industry-academia needs and collaboration.</p>
<div id="subtitle">Curriculum</div>
<p>The curriculum aims to promote local development to focus on two special interest areas including hair-art creation and beauty styling for fulfilling the target of &#8220;graduation and employment&#8221;.</p>
<p>The curriculum aims at helping students get the international licenses upon three aspects including beauty science, hair design, overall styling and aromatherapy.</p>
<p>Besides academic and practical training, we aggressively build cooperative relationships with government agencies in Chiayi and Yunlin districts and aesthetics industries to develop the innovative value of culture fashion.</p>
<p>We will provide more practical opportunities to our students, which is our responsibility to contribute in our own professional with learning innovation and creativity through close collaboration with industry, government, academia and research institutes.</p>
<p>Curriculum planning can be divided into four categories: professional compulsory, diversified majors, practical skills and exertion skills.</p>
<ol>
<li>Professional compulsory courses: This part trains students to have the basic knowledge and learning ability of beauty and hairdressing design. These courses are mainly based on basic professional subjects in hairdressing and styling, including beauty spa practice, fashion makeup design, introduction to professional haircuts, professional men&#8217;s haircutting practice, special productions, wedding consultants and bride secretaries, fashion management, introduction to professional hairdressing, Courses of Beauty and Beauty, Aromatherapy, Holistic Modeling Design, Mask Design Art, Aesthetics and Life Creation Art, Professional Women Hairdressing Practice, Fashion Accessories Design, Comprehensive Application of Hair Design, Fashion Paper Design &#8230; etc.</li>
<li>Specialized Courses: After cultivating students with basic theoretical and technical abilities, in order to further enrich the professional depth of students, they are divided into two professional elective modules such as &#8220;Faye Creation&#8221; and &#8220;Beauty Modeling&#8221;.</li>
<li>Practical skills courses: More than half of the courses in this department are practical courses to strengthen students&#8217; related skills in beauty, hairdressing, and styling, and to help students obtain relevant certifications.</li>
<li>Skills Courses: Students in this department offer special project production and a year-long off-campus internship course to strengthen practical experience and improve practical skills.</li>
</ol>

<p>The features of the Department of Fashion Styling and Design curriculum focus on accordance with fashion, creativity, elegance and beauty.</p>
<p>We hope to train our students to be composed with both inner spirit and styling ability on appearance beauty.The purpose is to construct a learning environment full of humanities and arts, so that students can combine professional knowledge in the fields of specialty, aesthetics, art and humanities in innovation and technology, and achieve subtle teaching results. In this way, students of this department can be equipped with the basic literacy and core abilities of innovation, aesthetics, arts and professions in the fields of image aesthetics, overall fashion design and management, etc., in order to meet the trend of internationalization and marketization of modern education. Strengthen the competitiveness of our students. The department has a number of professional equipment and strong teachers. The ultimate teaching goal is: &#8220;Graduation is a job, 100% employment matchmaking&#8221;. This department takes &#8220;hair creation&#8221; and &#8220;beauty modeling&#8221; as its development modules.</p>

<p>The main facilities include make-up, hairdressing, ski-care, aromatherapy and hygiene equipments.</p>

<p>The curriculum of tourism management department aims to promote local development to focuses on two special interest areas: travel and hospitality management and leisure management for professionals.</p>
<p>Interact with other related faculty resources of departments of Applied Digital Media and Dept. of E-Commerce in order to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded research and study environment. This will facilitate a broader discussion opportunity in theory and practice for tourism and leisure professionals, to better enable them to face a wider range of situations in the tourism field.</p>
<p>Besides academic and practical training, this department aggressively builds cooperative relationships with government agencies in Chia-yi and Yunlin districts and local travels with hospitality industries to develop the innovative value of tourism.</p>
<p>Through close collaboration with industry, government, academia, and research, it will provide more practical opportunities to our faculties and students, which is our responsibility to contribute in our own professional field with learning innovation and creativity.</p>

<p>The features of tourism curriculum focus on accordance with local development and government policy. Two main core features are event tourism with leisure activities (e.g., National Five Flagship Tourism Activities) and special event tourism with travel types (e.g., ecotourism travel, culture travel, long stay, health-care travel) to foster tourism and leisure management of professionals.</p>

<p>Computer simulation classroom of tourism and leisure management is equipped with related software, Campus Tourism Marketing is for Internship Program, Campus Hotel is prepared for Internship Program, Teaching and learning programs are all designed for learning by doing. Tour Escort Training Lab for guide program, Casino Training Lab for gaming program, In-flight Service Training Lab for hospitality program, these professional labs are all equipped with cutting-edge technology facilities.</p>

<p>The Department ofComputer Technology and Multinedia at WuFeng University was established in 2024. Currently the department is running both undergraduate and On-the-Job Master&#8217;s programs. </p>
<p>Undergraduate Program provides instruction in the creation, preparation, production and application of digital media. Classroom instruction and lab assignments give students practical experience in various 2D/3D design, digital publishing, digital trading, digital content, interactive multimedia, motion media, and web media software applications and techniques. Students learn concepts, principles, and processes for digital media project design, development and application. A Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) degree and several Professional Certifications are offered in the undergraduate program. Students are trained to use digital applications for fields involving: photography, 2D/3D graphic design, illustration, virtual reality, Network Practical Application, AR/VR, architectural modeling, Cloud services technology, Internet of Things Application Practice, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Application and Analysis, Mobile Commerce, Smart technology applications, web design and digital publishing. Due to the growing cultural and economic need to transfer content into digital format, graduates of the department of Applied Digital Media might work in many environments like enterprises, schools, libraries, museums, publishing houses, communications firms and government agencies. They might also work in the entertainment industry.</p>
<p>On-the-Job Master&#8217;s program is a professional, multidisciplinary and industry-relevant graduate degree program. It is available for In-service staffs and professionals who are interested in exploring, researching and building advanced media design, and production careers. A Master of Design (M.Des.) degree and several Advanced Professional Certifications are offered in the graduate program. The integrative study of theory and practices in conjunction with digital media application provides an essential part of the graduate program. A diverse selection of research areas allows graduate students to study in particular areas of interest, such as: media design, digital learning, digital trading, product design, digital archives, animations, games, video vision, and other areas of interest.</p>

<p>WuFeng University of Science and Technology line with world trends and government to promote Chinese language foreign policy, international students learning Chinese, to promote international cultural exchanges, the establishment of Chinese Language Center. The Center is a university level unit. The center is set up for the purpose of promoting Chinese language teaching, planning and implementation of programs outside the Chinese language. The professor foreigners Chinese language listening, speaking, reading, writing and other related capabilities as the core objective, and is responsible for Chinese language teaching materials compilation and research and development, promote the teaching and coaching ability to detect the Chinese language, the Chinese language and cultural learning activities organized, academic seminars and lectures. In addition to teaching, the Center and look forward to promote the beauty of Taiwan culture, promote international cooperation and cross-cultural communication.

<p>The mission of the Department of Recreation and Sport Management (LRSM)  is to provide a dynamic educational experience for the study of health, fitness, sport, and leisure that imparts the values, experiences, and skills necessary for students&#8217; future leadership roles as scholars engaged in lifelong learning and as professionals serving their communities through the promotion of healthy behavior and lifestyles.</p>

<p>Our program consists of a mix of theoretical and practical topics to help prepare you for either graduate school or immediate employment after graduation.</p>

<p>The Department of LRSM emphasizes the integration of theory and practice for cultivating professionals. Our curriculum is flexible and multidisciplinary and based on the learning needs of the student. The two main goals of the Department are to provide students with a creative, safe, nurturing environment which fosters high achievement and effective communication; and to educate students with the productive and technical skills needed to compete in a global society. We envision students filled with ambition, aiming for success.</p>
<li>Teaching Facilities</li>
<p>All our professional classrooms are furnished with up-to-date equipment. Digital multimedia technology is used to enrich and to provide for a quality learning experience. Using interactive virtual labs for teaching and learning is a field of increasing interest. This scenario-simulation teaching allows students to be trained through learning environments that have been constructed specifically to teach and then test their abilities and skills. </p>
<li>Future Student Goals</li>
<p>Graduates of our program may look forward to pursuing postgraduate studies at domestic and overseas universities, or find career opportunities in the field of sports coaches, sports referees, fitness trainer, sports fitness instructors, swimming coaches, health management division and activity planning staff,  tour manager, tour guide, leisure farm planners, leisure and system developers, leisure and tourism business, hospitality service personnel etc.</p>
<li>Laboratories</li>
<p>Welcome to the LRSM’s labs. Those are undergraduate laboratories primarily used for teaching and research purposes. Some of the analyses performed in those labs include body composition, strength assessment and exercise stress tests.</p>

<div id="subtitle">Objectives</div>
<p>In line with the national childhood educare policies, the major objectives of the Department of Early Childhood Educare (DOECE) are to foster excellent childcare and educare professionalism for our current students. In addition to cultivating professional childcare knowledge and ethics, this department also strengthens students’ capabilities in not only information management but also English teaching.</p>
<div id="subtitle">Features</div>
<p>The early childhood educare program is characterized by the following features: </p>
<ol>
<li>Few required courses. Students have a wide range of choices in selecting courses.</li>
<li>A set of comprehensive professional curriculum. This program offers students both foundational and core courses.</li>
<li>An emphasis on the combination of both theory and practice. Students have a great many opportunities to practice skills in childhood educare in the specially constructed classroom environment. Besides, students are eligible to take the practicum course to connect with day-care centers and kindergartens.</li>
<li>Cultivation of professional childcare personnel. The dedication is to cultivate capable and highly-qualified students to serve in childcare-related industries.</li>
</ol>
<div id="subtitle">Faculty </div>
<p>The teaching team of DOECE is comprised of  three associate professors, four assistant professors  faculty members from the Department of Applied Foreign Language and the Department of Information Management. In addition, DOECE also plans to recruit more professional and experienced faculty members who holds Ph.D. degrees in early childhood educare.</p>
<div id="subtitle">Curriculum Design</div>
<p>Courses provided by this program are illustrated as follow: </p>
<ol>
<li>Core subjects include both common courses and general education courses.</li>
<li>Mandatory courses include professional foundation, core and practicum courses.</li>
<li>Module Courses include Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Care, Information and Multimedia, Instruction of Children in English, or Early Childhood Special Education. Students can choose any of the module courses.</li>
</ol>

<p>Graduates of DOECE may develop their careers from three approaches: </p>

<li>Applying for jobs: Graduates of DOECE are qualified to be teachers, staff members or directors of child care-related institutions.</li>
<li>Taking National Examinations: Graduates of DOECE can take different kinds of examinations including the National General Examination, advanced and special exams for government officials of childcare, child-welfare, social work, administration of special education, and general educational administration.</li>
<li>Pursuing advanced studies: Graduates of DOECE may also consider further studies. They can choose to study early childhood educare, early childhood education, special education, child welfare, counseling, psychology, home economics and family education.</li>

<li>Instructors are all professionals who actively participate in practical projects, sharing their practical experiences with students. </li>
<li>Instructors’ outstanding research projects closely relate to practice of early childhood education and childcare at high quality kindergartens and nursery schools.</li>
<li>Instructors are encouraged to develop their second expertise and enhance their practical abilities through collaborative action research.</li>
<li>Instructors participate in numerous government projects covering a wide variety of research topics.</li>
<li>Senior professors in our department bring their leadership functions into full play, guiding junior instructors to take part in teamwork research projects.</li>

<p>Our faculty members are experienced in Japanese teaching, and are certified tour guides/leaders with practical experience.</p>
<div id="subtitle">Japanese Internships: </div>
<p>The department has signed up collaboration contracts with  Ooyama Yume Koubou where students can practice internships during every summer and winter vacation.</p>
<div id="subtitle">International Interactions: </div>
<p>The department recruits overseas study groups, partially sponsored by the school, to our sister Japanese schools during every summer and winter vacation.</p>
<div id="subtitle">Teaching Facilities: </div>
<p>The department facilitates “Japanese Self-study Center,” “Japanese Activities House,” “Introduction to Tourism Classroom” and “Live Japanese Classroom” with a variety of Japanese books, magazines, dictionaries, comics, online interactive Japanese learning websites, Japanese cable TV programs, Sing-and-Learn Japanese DJ system (up to 30000 Japanese songs) and Japanese Wii Interactive Video Games.</p>
<div id="subtitle">Student Activities: </div>
<p>The department holds various activities each semester, such as Corporation Visiting, Employment Conferences, Japanese Speech and Read-out Contests, Japanese Culture Week, Japanese Drama Contest, One-Hundred-Men Collaboration Japanese Song Contest, Department Sports Contest, Flowing-Water Noodle, Japanese Song Contest, Japanese Tea Manners Convention, Making Japanese Rice Ball, and Making Japanese Mochi, etc.</p>
<div id="subtitle">Future Career Scheme for students: </div>
<p>After graduation from the department, students can choose advanced domestic or overseas studies in Japanese or other commercial or leisure activities related graduate schools, or serve as Japanese business assistant, secretary, tourist guide, tourist group leader, or Japanese translator.</p>
<div id="subtitle">Programs for Students to Acquire Japanese Related Certificates: </div>
<ol>
<li>To train students with Japanese skills well enough to pass Japanese Proficiency Tests, Level One or Two when they graduate from the department.</li>
<li>To guide and assist students in attending various Japanese proficiency tests and acquiring professional certificates in Tourist Guide and/or Group Leader. </li>
